Craig Smart was
born and grew up in Canada, but he also got Indian and Jamaican roots.
Craig never thought that his dream, to become a popstar, would ever
be reality and would lead him to Europe. And his way to the musicbusiness
was really a little weird. Craig’s German-Canadian production
team T.E.T met Toni Cottura at the set of a video shoot in Los Angeles
and that was the chance to present Tonoi the demotape. Toni really
loved what he heard and called immediatlely his partner Bülent
Aris.
Only
a few weeks later the contract between Booya and Craig Smart were
signed and Craig decided to live in Hamburg/Germany. Craig’s
solo singles were “I’ll Be Ready (To Break My Heart)”
and “Señorita” wich were pretty sucessfull in the
German charts. Craig also worked with Rap artists like Rugged I "All
The Things I Do", or A.K.-S.W.I.F.T. & Mazaya "It's
On". Altough, Craig worked on a project called D-Cru. He wrote
songs like “I Will be Waiting” and “I Wanna Go”
and he was also the singer of the project, but these songs were only
released in the USA. Craig was also the singer in The Udnerdog Project songs "Winter Jam", "Saturday night" and "Endless Love".
Craig was also working with the Canadian rapper Rick Threat in 2003 and 2004.
In 2006, he hooked up again with Vic Krishna, and as The Underdog Project comeback single, they released "Girls of summer". Then in 2007-2008 Craig went more and more into Dance music and releaed some dance songs together with Belgium DJ Frank Ti Aya (aka DJ F.R.A.N.K.), under the name Yardi Don. So if you are a dance-music fan, you may check out their music. We here on eurorap, cherish Craig most for the eurorap songs he did thru the years.
